You won't read today about Jamaica, Cuba or the Bahamas. Today's post is about a less known location. When you look on the map Guadeloupe resembles a butterfly. Guadeloupe island lies in the Caribbean Sea within the Lesser Antilles although it belongs to France. Apart from the fact that the official language of the island is French, there is not much like France here. The landscape is truly tropical and the beaches are the most beautiful in the world! Explore the best Caribbean beaches, that you have no idea existed!

ROSEAU BEACH

BEST CARIBBEAN BEACHES - TOP 6

Roseau Beach is protected by a coral reef and consists of several fine sand pools separated by dikes. The beach has black sand of volcanic origin. The green of the palm trees contrasts perfectly with the black sand. Roseau is located in the east of Basse Terre, which is a mountainous and forested area.

ALIZES BEACH

BEST CARIBBEAN BEACHES - TOP 6

Let’s start with a little-known tourist beach called Plage de Alizes. It is situated in the middle of the east coast of Grande-Terre, near the town of Moule. The beach seems to be endless and the location on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean makes the waves here large. Alizes is surrounded by coconut trees and golden sand

PETIT TERRE BEACH

BEST CARIBBEAN BEACHES - TOP 6

Petit Terre is two small, uninhabited islets about 10km (6.2 miles) southeast of Grande Terre. Petit Terre Beach, which takes its name from the islet on which it is located, is a nature reserve. It is overgrown with dense bushes of palm and ferns. Here you can observe the wildlife of animals such as iguanas, turtles and even sharks. You can get to the beach only by boat. Petit Terre is a deserted, wild beach that has no infrastructure but has unspoiled nature that is difficult to find on the globe these days.

GRANDE ANSE BEACH

BEST CARIBBEAN BEACHES - TOP 6

Grande Anse is considered to be one of the most majestic beaches on the Guadeloupe islands. The beach is located 2 km (1.24 miles) north of the Deshaies region. Deshaies is a region in the northwest of Basse Terre. The golden sand on Grande Anse stretches for over a mile. This beach is considered to be the longest in Guadeloupe. I feel honoured to say that I had this breathtaking beach nearly all to myself.

Caravella Beach

BEST CARIBBEAN BEACHES - TOP 6

In my opinion, it is a beach like from a Windows wallpaper. For a long time, I couldn’t believe that what I saw, was really happening. Located in the south of Grande Terre, near the seaside town of Sainte Anne. In my opinion, Caravella is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world! Snow-white sand – soft as flour, crystal clear water around and palm trees leaning at different angles. Iguanas of considerable size roam the sand, which gives this place an even more exotic atmosphere. No photo can reproduce the colours, so you absolutely have to check it on your own!

Anse des Châteaux Beach

BEST CARIBBEAN BEACHES - TOP 6

Pointe des Chateaux is a peninsula on the island of Grande-Terre near the town of Saint-Francois. The Anse des Châteaux beach is located along the promenade leading to the top of Pointe de Chateaux. It is the most picturesque beach on the peninsula, reaching far out into the ocean. I dare to say one of the best Caribbean beaches! Yet despite its unspoiled beauty, the beach is scary, why? Strong winds, huge waves and sea currents make swimming on this beach dangerous and prohibited. It is allowed, however, to admire nature, which is expressed in the beauty of the wild sea, rugged cliffs and a magnificent panorama!

Caribbean beaches are some of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. Nature cannot be improved and the beaches in Guadeloupe are for me the embodiment of nature in all its glory. Nothing complicated, the vastness of the ocean, fancifully curved palm trees, various shades of blue and green and various tropical creatures. Guadeloupe is an island where I saw the best Caribbean beaches, and which one of them do you like the most?
